Do I need the original records?

This is a tricky question. In general no.. copies of the originals are satisfactory or published books. But you might have to obtain certifications of the originals/records.

Any published record will need the author, title, date of publication, volume number and the page must be given. Photocopies of the title page and pages cited must be supplied.

Mayflower society will accept information from their book Mayflower Families Through Five Generations series, which is available in many libraries.
