Jedediah Foster was born October 10, 1726 in Andover, MA. He graduated from Harvard in 1744, studied law and practiced at Brookfield. In 1749, Jedediah Foster married Dorothy Dwight, daughter of General Dwight.
Judge Jedediah Foster was a member of the Worcester County Convention and delegate to the Provincial Congress in 1774, a member of the convention that framed the constitution of Massachusetts, and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He was also appointed judge of probate and common pleas for Worcester and justice of the Superior Court of Massachusetts. His notes on the 1778 murder trial of Bathsheba Ruggles Spooner are of particular interest. His family correspondence is noteworthy.
